At the moment there is still a taboo if we look at mental disorders, We can see this back in that we are still keeping people out of our society.
We have a image in our mind of what is 'normal' and what is not.
But what is normal?
When is something a mental disorder?
What if the word normal doesn't exist anymore?
What do we define as a mental disorder right now?
We went to the Dolhuys and Aina did a test were she had to click on the faces were she felt the most sympathy for. All the faces she clicked on were faces of people who have mania. apparently what we define as mental disorder has nothing to do with how we look but how we behave and which behavior we define as normal or 'abnormal.'
Yesterday we interviewed Marlon he used to have psychoses and he told us about his experiences. During his psychos his behavior was not 'normal' and many times he was getting into trouble.
But what if we were more sensitive towards this behavior, opening up destroying the word normal. What if the entire mentally is insane?
At this moment we seeing lots of small steps into this subject:
People are interested in this subject, we are going to museums, we educate people to be open to other people and what we used to define as mental disorder is what we find the most normal thing right now like homosexuality.
We are interested in there visualizations, there creative output. But what if we all want to be a part of this open, free way of living (surrealism and creative output) and therefor destroying the word normal.
What if we can recognize parts of ourselves in mental disorders. What if we can all accept that a part of is is not normal.
